MTN Mobile Money Registration Requirements.

To register for MTN Mobile Money, you need specific documents and details for verification:

  1. Valid National ID – Ghana Card (This is the only ID you can use to register for MTN MoMo)
  2. Date of Birth.
  3. Valid MTN Mobile Number.

How To Register MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) Using:

• MyMTN App

  1. Download and install the MyMTN app on your Android or iPhone.
  2. Open the app and tap on MoMo from the bottom menu.
  3. Now follow the prompts that follow to complete your registration.

• Online Portal

  1. Open MTN E-Request Customer Portal website.
  2. Enter your Phone Number and click “Request OTP”.
  3. You’ll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) via text message (SMS). Enter the code and click “Verify”.
  4. Next, click on the Mobile Money Registration Form.
  5. Now follow the prompts to finish the registration. Afterward, share the ticket number with MTN through their online platforms for further help.

Visit an MTN Service Center or Authorized Agent nationwide with your valid National ID (Ghana Card) to register for MoMo.

To begin registration:

  1. Ask for help from an MTN merchant, agent, or office. They’ll record your details so make sure to provide accurate information.
  2. You’ll receive a request on your mobile device.
  3. Dial *170# on your phone and set a four-digit PIN as prompted; this will be your transaction/MoMo PIN.
  4. Once done, you’ll receive a confirmation message that the registration is complete.
